The Role of Teachers, Parents, Team Members, and the Team Captain


Teachers (Active)
• Register on the VSF Website.
• Assist the Student Teams in selecting a Project.
• Monitor the Team's progress.
• Advise the Team with respect to safety, technical and ethical matters.
• Arrange for technical assistance as required by the Team.
• Contact Larry for assistance as needed.
• Distribute awards in June.

Teachers (Less Active)
• Register on the VSF Website.
• Distribute awards in June.

Parents
• Encourage the Team.
• Help resolve Team conflicts.
• Provide logistical support for Team meetings etc.
• Monitor the timeline developed by the Team.

Team Captain
• Register the team,
• Lead Team decision making sessions.
• Ensure that the timeline is being followed.
• Resolve conflicts on the team.
• Contact the VSF for help with problems.

Team Members
• Choose a project of interest to all members.
• Decide on the project type - Descriptive or Experimental.
• Design project and website.
• Select website components and software to be used.
• Develop a timeline for project tasks.
• Participate in group decision making sessions.
• Complete the assigned components of the project on time.
• Ask teachers, parents, team members, and the VSF for help when needed.
• Have fun and enjoy working on the project.
